The new edition of the Lear Competition Festival is scheduled in Rome from 22 to 24 September 2026.
The LCF is the result of a collaboration between numerous partners representing key stakeholders in the competition community: law firms, international organisations, competition authorities, private companies, academics, and universities. The aim is to promote debate and networking on highly topical issues in competition policy.
The program includes two opportunities dedicated to young talents:
- the Poster Session;
- the Young Talent Competition Award.
Young Talent Competition Award
The Young Talent Competition Award, sponsored by the Trento Summer School on EU Competition Law and Economics 2027, is open to master's and doctoral students in law and economics, recent graduates, and researchers interested in submitting a research proposal in the field of competition and regulation.
The best proposals will be awarded:
- 1st prize: €1,500 + participation in the Trento Summer School on Advanced EU Competition Law & Economics 2027
- 2nd prize: €1,000
- 3rd prize: €500
All proposals will be evaluated by a Scientific Committee composed of Michele Carpagnano, Professor of Law at the University of Trento; Francisco Marco Fernández, Professor of Law at IE Law School; Alison Jones, Professor of Law at King's College London; and Patrick Rey, Professor of Economics at the Toulouse School of Economics.
The deadline for submitting proposals is June 16, 2026.
More information on the Young Talent Competition Award is available on the official website.
Poster Session
The Poster Session will be held during the festival, providing students with the chance to present their research and ideas to professionals in a designated exhibition area. Their work will be on display for the duration of the event, allowing participants to view the content at any time.
Participation is free, but it is necessary to register for the event via the online form.
The deadline for poster submissions is August 31, 2026.
Participants in the Poster Session will receive free access to the Lear Competition Festival.
